Job Summary
Position operates under the direction of the Quality Manger. The technician assures that reliability testing is completed in accordance with industry / mil standards and customer drawing requirements. Required to read / interpret drawings / standards and complete testing in accordance with the requirements. Provides support / training to Hi Rel operators to complete required tasks.
Essential Functions
  • Interfaces with Management, Quality, Engineering, Production Control and may be asked to participate in customer meetings.
  • Reviews customer drawings and industry / mil standards to interpret testing requirements.
  • Create procedures and work instructions based on testing requirements.
  • Analyze equipment capacity/constraints to determine bottlenecks and equipment needs.
  • Manages/tracks on going testing and scheduling for component qualifications.
  • Works with outside labs for special testing not done in house.
  • Creates test reports and summaries. Assembles qualification packages when required.
  • Trains Hi Rel operators so each employee can complete all required reliability tasks.
  • Cross training in other departments is required so employees can occasionally fill-in, in other departments, when required. Additional or different functions may be assigned to the employee periodically.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must be able to read and interpret customer drawings and industry / mil standards.
  • Computer knowledge in Windows software.
  • Knowledge working with Excel (charts and graphs), Word, MS Teams, Sharepoint.
  • Must be able to read / write English and preform mathematical calculations using a calculator/computer.
  • Must be a self-motivator. Employee determines what needs to be done according to work load.
  • Frequent verbal instruction and inspection of work or materials produced.
  • Detailed written instructions or procedure manuals explaining established procedures.
  • General assignments - Employee chooses best procedure for task.
  • Employee has full responsibility for interpretive and applying general departmental policy and for establishing procedures
Supervisory Responsibility
Will backup supervisor and oversee operators when supervisor is unavailable.
Responsibility for confidentiality
  • Must have high level confidentiality on product and employee issues.
  • May handle confidential data. Disclosure may result in termination of employment.

  • Works with little need of guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions.
  • Performs a wide range of tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions.
  • Free to plan work assignments and schedule to meet long-term goals and objectives.
  • Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on complex issues.
  • Performs a wide range of complex tasks with little predictability as to their occurrence.
  • Must write letters to explain complex issues.
  • Persuade or explain complex issues in person or by phone.
Position Type/Expected hours of work
This is a full-time non-exempt position. 40 hours within a workweek. Overtime may be required when needed.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Education Requirements
Some college required, 2-4 year degree preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Prior experience working for company performing aerospace work
  • Project management experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Internal auditing experience
