Job Summary
The Western RSM will be responsible for managing a territory that spans a corridor from SoCal east to Az and North to British Columbia and east to Manitoba. Canada. They will be responsible for development and closure of new business and fulfillment of existing business with manufacturing representatives and internal corporate resources. The company's products include a variety capacitor, chip antennas and integrated passive components.

  • Responsible for Johanson Forecasting and meeting forecast
  • Develop a sales plan for driving representatives & manage them
  • Grow sales by 20% annually
  • Semi-Annual Forecast and Opportunity Reviews with our Manufacture’s Reps that are documented with 30 day action plans
  • Work to ensure local Design Wins result in foreign (eg. Asia) purchase order closures
  • Train reps/agents and ensure detailed and accurate use for our pipeline tracking system
  • Manage our Reps/Agents to maximize performance and make adjustments as needed
  • Increase the Customer Base 15% annually
  • Develop & assume leadership role for Region Top 10 prospects and those existing Key Accounts that drive current year sales
  • Minimum of 20 customer visits/month and publish call reports within 48 hours after visit
  • Work with Business/Product Development Managers to develop new business for their respective product lines
  • Work with customer and Johanson Engineering to identify at least 8 new product opportunities per year
  • Develop and execute growth plans with Johanson Distribution Account Managers and local regional distributors (i.e. Arrow)
  • Penetrate customer’s organization and develop a rapport with the decision maker(s), design engineers and buyer
  • Extract and report key qualifying new opportunity information (i.e. EAU, Production Start-up, Competition)
  • Capable of following Company and Department procedures/policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Previous experience in a similar function for an electronic components company
  • > yrs experience in electronic component sales
  • Experienced in value based selling
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization, communication and closing skills
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibility for Confidentiality
This position requires confidentiality; the company has many Non-Disclosure Agreements with customers who require confidentiality and occasionally Applications Engineering will work with ITAR controlled documents. As such, US citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
Work Environment
This position will likely be based out of the Sales Manager's home office, and requires travel throughout the Western US and Canadian territory. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop, cell phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Traveling via automobile, train, and/or airplane.

Position Type/Expected hours of work
This is a full-time exempt position. 40+ hours within a workweek.
At least 50%Travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  • BSEE - technical ability to interact with customer’s design engineers and communicate needs to factory
  • 2+ years of Regional Sales Management experience
Preferred Experience
  • Electrical Component experience in Regional Sales Management environment a plus.
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint) and expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
