MOV Program for Customized LTCC RF Passive Components

Program Overview

Johanson Technology’s Minimum Order Value (MOV) Program enables customers to develop custom LTCC-based RF integrated passive components when standard catalog parts do not meet application requirements. The MOV program is optimized for low-volume and early-stage production while maintaining production-grade design discipline and manufacturing quality.

This offering provides a clear, structured path from concept to qualified custom component, with transparent engineering and production cost models.

When to Use the MOV Program

The MOV Program is ideal when:

  • Program annual volumes are below 50,000 pieces, even as small as a few dozen pcs.
  • Electrical requirements cannot be met with standard catalog parts.
  • Board space, frequency response, or integration constraints require a custom solution.
  • Time-to-market and design confidence are critical.
  • Future volume growth might be possible but not yet guaranteed.

Custom Product Scope

The MOV Program supports custom LTCC RF passive components, including:

  • Bandpass, low-pass, and high-pass filters
  • Impedance-matched networks and integrated passive structures
  • Couplers, baluns, power splitters, and custom RF blocks
  • Application-specific LTCC passive designs

Design & Development Approach

Each project follows a structured, production-focused workflow:

  1. Requirements Review – Electrical, mechanical, environmental, and application constraints defined.
  2. Parametric & EM Modeling – Rapid feasibility assessment and optimization
  3. Full Physical Design – LTCC stack-up, layout, and manufacturability review
  4. Prototype Build & Test – Performance validation against specifications
  5. Design Refinement – Iteration as needed prior to production release

Commercial Model

  • Up-Front NRE Required
A Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) charge is required to initiate custom design activities. This ensures dedicated engineering resources and production-grade design rigor.
  • Up-Front Production Charges
For low-volume production programs upfront charges apply to support tooling, setup, and efficient manufacturing execution.
  • Clear Path to Volume Scaling
As production volumes increase, commercial terms can be reviewed and optimized (re-quoted).

Key Benefits

✔ Purpose-built for low-volume custom RF components

✔ Transparent cost structure (no hidden development risk)
